Shanshuilu Eco-Park is located at No. 37, Nanshen Rd., Nangang Dist., Taipei City. As Taipei City’s implementation of pay-by-the-bag garbage disposal and recycling program helped the city reach its goal of zero landfill on 2010, 21 hectares of landfill property was rehabilitated and transformed into the Shanshuilu Eco-Park. Not only did it totally reverse the negativity generated by the dirt, mess and foul odour of the old landfill, it also raised the land’s utility value and visibly improved the environment’s scenery. It is a shining example of landform transformation and revitalization.

Through landfill rehabilitation results and various interactive facilities within the park, it made for a location that integrated ecology vitalization, environmental protection and education functions. Moreover, the Department gave back by establishing the Shanchuku Swimming Pool Pavilion for public recreation. Add this to the concerts held by local schools, communities, town halls, and other organizations within the park, the weekend Farmer’s Market, and various other activities, and we have a park that tightly knits the lives of the local populou

This eco-park combines natural environmental resources and community environmental resources to mold local idiosyncrasies. Making full use of the station’s special resources, the Shanshuilu Eco-Park was designed to establish an environment for the triple goal of environmental protection, recreation, and education, thus increasing the locality’s qualify of life.

Cypress Forestry Life Village is located at the intersection of Zhongxiao Road and Linsen East Road. Its entrance features an image of three of Alishan’s giant cypress trees; it also serves as a sign of route guidance for visitors while manifesting the Village’s historical value. Based on forestry culture and showing respect to the ecosystem, the buildings were properly restored, preserved and re-designed spatially, with the existing facilities perfectly integrated with the buildings, while providing the functions and services of education, leisure, culture and creative industries. Chairs/benches, greening, wooden bridges, eco ponds, lighting, and a stage have been set up around the historic buildings in downtown Chiayi; these new facilities not only link the past and the future, but also improve the vitality and atmosphere of the overall space. 

Cypress Forestry Life Village will turn a new page for itself with its traditional significance and its function as a creative arts and leisure space. The vibrant facilities related to forestry culture have achieved the goal of boosting the local economy and ensuring tourism prosperity.

 The palace of the Royal National Hungarian Music Academy in Budapest was designed by Flóris Korb and Kálmán Giergl in 1904, and was opened three years later in 1907. After hundred years of use, contemporary requirements of musical performances and education of the highest standard made the conservation and reconstruction urgently necessary by the beginning of the new century. The Academy made the decision about the conservation works in 2003, in order to conserve and restore the outstanding values of the building, by making it capable to meet the challenges of the twenty first century. The project was implemented with the financial aid of the European Union.

Hamburg’s St. Pauli district is a landmark in its own right; known around the world for its Reeperbahn entertainment mile, St. Pauli is perhaps even more famous than the city itself. The project ‘Tanzende Türme’ (‘dancing towers’) marks the beginning of this famous mile. The project stands out for the engineering challenge evident in the twisted façade that resembles a couple dancing the tango, a concept that is unique in Germany and an example of the demanding architecture of BRT Architekten. The project thus does more than just provide offices for the STRABAG Group’s Hamburg units; as an urban landmark, the ‘Tanzende Türme’ represent a commitment and a declaration of love to the city of Hamburg. 

This becomes especially clear in the mixed use: The 22 to 24 floors of the two high-rise towers contain offices. They also include bars and restaurants on the ground and 23rd floor with a corresponding roof terrace on the 24th floor. In the underground floors the famous mojo club reopened. The development is completed by four underground levels for public parking. Next to the towers, the four star superior hotel Arcotel Onyx is located in an independent 8-storey building.

The Tanzende Türme also stand for exceptional architectural quality. Already during the construction phase they managed to establish themselves as a Hamburg landmark with wide renown. Today the building is part of almost every city sightseeing tour and there is almost no tourist’s guide book that does not mention it.

Forest Hub – Dialogue between the Park and the City – Taipei Daan Park Station

Daan Park Station is closely linked to the 25.8-hectare Daan Forest Park. With such excellent natural conditions, the station was designed to emphasize space transition from an urban park to a sunken courtyard and an underground station. Along the park edge, layered excavation filled this underground station with sunshine and greenery. 
The station itself is energy efficient, well lit, and well ventilated. Materials were chosen to reduce the carbon footprint. Furthermore, to accentuate the area’s characteristics and style, the integrated public art and courtyard offer a pleasant artistic tour for pedestrians.
Daan Park Station is more than just a station because it is connected to an urban park. The scenic planning and design have made it a landmark in the center of Taipei. Apart from providing safe, convenient, and comfortable transportation services for passengers, it serves as a vantage point for neighboring residents coming to rest and relax. It is also a must-see landmark for visitors to Taipei. With its great atmosphere, park goers slow down their pace to rest their minds and bodies and lift their spirits before continuing on a new journey.

 As a 32 story educational vertical campus, Roosevelt University’s Wabash Building plays a significant role in Chicago’s urban landscape. The most impactful sustainable achievement was locating this 420,000sf multi-use facility on a small 17,300sf mid-block greyfield.

Combining five buildings into one, this innovative program links classrooms, laboratories, administrative offices, student union, student services and 634 residential beds. Rising above and connecting to the historic Auditorium Building it creates an intriguing dialog between past and present.

This LEED Gold certified building achieves 28% energy and 35% water savings while receiving 72% of its energy through renewable sources. Building orientation, massing, strategic program stacking, natural ventilation, latent-heat recovery, and rainwater harvesting all contribute to its success. The building’s interior incorporates 38% recycled material, 73% FSC wood, composting system supporting the building’s urban farms, no/low VOC finishes, and abundant daylight.

The building supports the University’s mission of social justice as a learning-living laboratory for sustainability. Encouraging users to take the stairs and not the elevators through bright and visible stairwells is one way the building fosters sustainable behavior. Further sustainable educational opportunities occur through interior signage.

The Springs is a residential area that was built with the concept of "The Harmony of Healthy Living". This area is created by utilizing the natural features as much as possible as a valuable asset. In the design process, the Summarecon Serpong developer realize these ideas by designing a natural alignment residential of three interrelated elements,  the water, air and soil elements.  Appropriate land management strategies in maintaining the natural contour produces the natural feeling of a typical house that supports an active and healthy lifestyle.

Designed by the Summarecon Serpong developer, who has extensive experience building environmentally friendly housing, The Springs Summarecon Serpong has become a residential area with refreshing lakeside scenery, a beautiful environment filled with trees, and plenty of fresh air. This housing complex, which is part of the development of the greatest Summarecon Serpong integrated area has become a symbol of professionalism developmental in maximizing the potential of nature in a balanced way. The residential area is located in the district of Tangerang, in the province of Banten, within 21 kilometers of Metropolitan Jakarta, the capital of the republic of Indonesia. 

Before being developed as a residential area, the Springs was an unproductive wastelands, filled with weeds, reeds, and barren scenery due to lack of shady trees. The area was also damaged by illegal sand mining that resulted in large holes dotting the landscape.

However, the topography and natural conditions that existed in and around the Springs area inspire Summarecon Serpong developer to create a residential area that maximized the potential of  the existing natural resources. The presence of the lake in this area resulted in a developer initiative to build a residential area with an environment that has a balance compositional of green (trees) and blue (water) areas in perfect harmony.

The implementation of the ideal landscaping model, promoting harmonious healthy living, can be seen in the Grisea cluster. The residences, which are of two-storey house variety, consists of 166 housing units with a resort atmosphere that are built on an area of 6.17 hectares.

In this cluster, the Summarecon Serpong developer also increased the depth of Grisea Lake and aerate it properly to increase the oxygen content of the water. Now, the lake also functions as a retention pond. Lake ecosystems have also become alive, allowing fish and geese to breed. On the edge of the lake, trees were planted,  so the green foliage can supply oxygen to the residents of the housing complex, while also providing an ideal place for birds to rest and reproduce amidst the branches.

Tree House is a residential development that was completed in 2013. Nestled within the Upper Bukit Timah and Chestnut Avenue private estate in the North-Western part of Singapore, it comprises four towers of 24-storey apartments with 429 units (comprising two-bedroom to four-bedroom units, and penthouses). Myriad recreational facilities like a plunge pool, floating hammocks, tennis courts and a jogging track are available. Its site area is 22,700.40m2 and gross floor area is 52,437.92m2.

Tree House was designed with environmental sustainability in mind, inspired by its surroundings – a green oasis comprising a forested area, nature reserve, park connector and the nearby Zhenghua Park. Zhenghua Park formed the concept for Tree House’s Vertical Garden which shields against the westerly sun, and filters pollutants and carbon dioxide out of the air. The majestic Vertical Garden (approximately 78m tall and 20m wide) decreases the estate’s carbon footprint by reducing heat absorption and lowering the energy needed to cool indoor spaces. Adding to the nature-inspired architecture are sky gardens on the 7th, 13th and 19th floors of each block, which act as additional vertical green lungs and vantage points for residents to enjoy outdoor greenery.

Tree House is a Guinness World Record holder for the Largest Vertical Garden (as at April 2014). In addition, it received top honours in the ‘Best Innovative Green Building’ category at the MIPIM Asia Awards 2013 which honours outstanding real estate projects in Asia Pacific.  iffel Palace is a prestigious Budapest office building that excels with its exquisite design, heritage restoration practices, sustainable solutions, commercial success, urban development concept and contribution to the larger society.

It organically combines original 19th century architectural elements and innovative green technologies. The facade takes us back to 1893 when the building functioned as a publication house. 

The new interior meets all criteria of 21st century commercial buildings, attracting tenants such as PwC, Apple, CBRE, Dentons, the British Chamber of Commerce, and services (restaurant, café, conference center, beauty salon, wine bar), contributing to a 98% occupancy level and fast divestment process.

 Point92 is a distinctive landmark located at Petaling Jaya, near the capital city of Kuala Lumpur, on a 0.92 acre site (hence the name point92).  It consists of a 19 storey building with a net lettable area of 159,494 sq feet (14,817 sq metres), and was completed in November 2012. It has won top awards for design in Malaysia, Asia, as well as on the global stage, and has been featured in prominent industry magazines.  The building has attracted high-profile multinational tenants such as Nike, Lego and Eli Lilly; it was 93% occupied within 18 months of completion.

National Nantou Special School, a school founded for handicapped students, hopes to create a unique secret garden for students in co-existence, co-prosperity, and co-share with local people. This also reflects the spirit of humanity. It includes a surrounded promenade, track, green, activity center, and a basketball court.

Unlike the urban and residential environment having more right angles and squares, the landscape of nature is in free curve. There fore, a campus which is built in free curve helps handicapped students have a sense of cognition for different fields in their brains. Spheres and curves can generate a sense of pleasure and an effect of healing in a child’s emotion as Hoffman's yellow duckling.

The palace of the Royal National Hungarian Music Academy in Budapest was designed by Flóris Korb and Kálmán Giergl in 1904, and was opened three years later in 1907. After hundred years of use, contemporary requirements of musical performances and education of the highest standard made the conservation and reconstruction urgently necessary by the beginning of the new century. The Academy made the decision about the conservation works in 2003, in order to conserve and restore the outstanding values of the building, by making it capable to meet the challenges of the twenty first century. The project was implemented with the financial aid of the European Union.

The Interlace is a 24-storey condominium of 1040 residential units ranging from 2- to 4-bedroom types, penthouses and eight shops. The 8 hectare site has a plot ratio of 2.1.

Inspired by old villages of Singapore and responding to the southern ridge context of the location, the Architect created a new building typology which, instead of typical towers, consists of 31 interlocking 'blocks'.

This unique architecture allows for porosity of views, ventilation and green spaces to be spread throughout all levels, including nine common roof gardens and ninety-nine open roof spaces for the units. All these open spaces and landscape amount to over 112% of the original land area.
